The story

Revati Nakshatra

Revati lies in the sky in the last Rashi, Meena (Pisces). It appears like a pair of fishes. Of the two fishes, one faces the west direction, while the other faces the north. It has 32 prominent stars forming the image of a Muraja, a long rectangular percussion drum, according to the majority of seers.

Revati is ruled by Pusha, one of the twelve Adityas, who is considered the nourisher of the world. This Nakshatra first activates in the 12th year, in whichever house this Nakshatra is placed in the native’s birth chart.

A native born under Revati Nakshatra is favoured by elegant personalities. According to Parashar, they have a habit of spending more than their income. They are fond of travelling and generally belong to a good family.

The ruling deity, Pushan, provides nourishment and can illuminate the native’s life. In the Rigveda, Pusha is vividly described as the deity of physical nourishment and prosperity, mitigating obstacles on roads, protecting vehicles and milch animals, and being the lord of infinite wealth. He is also regarded as the progenitor of rains and the deity who manifests all forms of well-being.

This star is associated with safe travelling and fruitful journeys. Revati means “the wealthy” and is ruled by Mercury. Vishnu, the ruler associated with Mercury, along with his consort Lakshmi, signifies wealth and prosperity.

People born under this star are polite, charming, and social. They have a refined nature and are always willing to offer support or a helping hand. Revati is one of the most optimistic and reverent Nakshatras, whose natives are capable of seeing the bigger picture. They are said to have well-formed limbs, genuine manners, deep learning, and richness of character, and they do not covet the property of others.

Visibility and Location

Revati can be seen from a location free from electricity or artificial light, under a darker sky. It lies up in the eastern side of the Great Square of Pegasus and is relatively easy to locate. It lies on the left side of the celestial Ram. The best time to visualise it is around 10–11 PM from mid-September to November, when it appears almost overhead.

Characteristics of the Natives

Natives are aspirational but may be hasty by nature, which can cause them to trail behind in the race. They may have an interest in para-astrological subjects and are generally easy-going. They may live in a world of imagination and tend to retire early from their work.

Fatigue caused by lethargy, superstition, politely headstrong behaviour, being underestimated within the family, intoxication, and other vices are some of the other features associated with this Nakshatra.

The effects mentioned above are said to become progressively stronger as the Moon advances through the Nakshatra. Being one of the Ganda-Moola Nakshatras, the negative tendencies are believed to increase progressively from the second to the fourth quarter.

Positive Influences

The positive sides of Revati Nakshatra include good fortune, enjoyment, authoritative positions, a lustrous physical appearance, male progeny, and submission.

Suitable Activities

Revati is considered suitable for a variety of auspicious and constructive activities. These include joining a position, coronation or crowning ceremonies, learning principles, travelling, preparing medicines, opening outlets, pursuing fine arts, agricultural activities, laying foundations, construction, entering a new house, making investments, sale and purchase, healing and treatment, giving the final touch to an undertaking, and similar activities.
