Revati Nakshatra

Revati lies in the sky in the last Rashi, Meena (Pisces). It appears like a pair of fishes. Of the two fishes, one faces the west direction, while the other faces the north. It has 32 prominent stars forming the image of a Muraja, a long rectangular percussion drum, according to the majority of seers.

Revati is ruled by Pusha, one of the twelve Adityas, who is considered the nourisher of the world. This Nakshatra first activates in the 12th year, in whichever house this Nakshatra is placed in the native’s birth chart.

A native born under Revati Nakshatra is favoured by elegant personalities. According to Parashar, they have a habit of spending more than their income. They are fond of travelling and generally belong to a good family.

The ruling deity, Pushan, provides nourishment and can illuminate the native’s life. In the Rigveda, Pusha is vividly described as the deity of physical nourishment and prosperity, mitigating obstacles on roads, protecting vehicles and milch animals, and being the lord of infinite wealth. Revati can be seen from a location free from electricity or artificial light, under a darker sky. It lies up in the eastern side of the Great Square of Pegasus and is relatively easy to locate. It lies on the left side of the celestial Ram. The best time to visualise it is around 10–11 PM from mid-September to November, when it appears almost overhead.

Characteristics of the Natives
